Wisconsin Herd returns for year 2

Oshkosh favorite James Young returns to the Herd Roster for the openings of season 2

The Wisconsin Herd kicks off their sophomore season on Friday, November 2, 2018 with a home matchup against the Greensboro Swarm.  The team will have a new look, with nearly all of the players from last season’s squad playing elsewhere.

The Herd is the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, who currently stand as the only undefeated NBA team at 7-0.

The hoops squad will play 5 home games in the first half of November, including back to back opening weekend (Nov. 2 & 3) as well as November 14, 16 and 17.

In their opening season, the Herd finished 21-29 after an impressive start to the season was undercut when leading scorer and fan favorite James Young was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers early January.

As of Tuesday, the Herd roster sat at 17 players, with several small shifts and reductions expected before tipoff. Trevon Duval and Jaylen Morris have filled the team’s two available 2-way contracts, providing them opportunities to suit up for the Bucks. Duval was a top 5 ranked high school player who played last season at Duke.  He is the first one-and-done departure from Duke to go undrafted in the NBA draft.
