Weekend Live Music Scene VI: July 12-15

Here are the editor’s picks for live music shows July 12 – 15, 2018:

Thursday, July 12: This Thursday we have a 4-way tie – our team will be sticking to the northeast side but would be remiss to not mention the national acts at Rock USA and the fine blues set happening at O’Marro’s.

Peabody’s Side Yard hosts the 5th installment of the Thursday Auralai Sideyard Series, with a special guest performance by busy Appleton duo FEATherWOLF.  The acoustic duo of Shaun Marie and Sam Luna brings a country roots vibe with pronounced chemistry and authentic spirit.  The event is free.

Waterfest returns this week with  Boz Scaggs. Scaggs’ successful musical career has included rocking with the Steve Miller Band and a solo career that produced “Silk Degrees” (which reached #2 on the US Billboards).TIX: $15 before 7pm; $20 after. $50 VIP.  Gates open at 5:30pm.

O’Marro’s will be hosting grammy-nominee Bryan Lee Braille Blues Daddy at 8pm.  Show is ticketed.

Rock USA:  Headliners for the evening include BUSH, Halestorm, and Godsmack.  Tix are $89 single day, $159 for 3 day passes.

Friday, July 13:  The weekend is busy with major events from Lifest and Rock USA.  See more about Lifest here.

Rock USA boasts a full day of music starting at 12:30pm, with evening headliners Seether, Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie.

The New Moon Cafe is hosting guitar-swinging dance beats solo show Alluvion from Mpls. The show is probably free but you should buy some coffee and some merch or throw in a few musician dollars. We played the music of Alluvion while assembling this post – very solid.

Saturday, July 14:

A relatively quite inner-city night for live music, with Beckets hosting our friends in blues band Tin Sandwich and O’Marro’s hosting a birthday bash of dirty rock n roll and blues.

Rock USA is hosting Stone Temple Pilots and Shinedown.

Sunday, July 15:  Fletches is hosting the Jazz Orgy.  Get there.
