The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh has announced that Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Petra Roter will leave her post of 11 years and will join the University of Wisconsin System Administration, serving in a leadership role in UW System Academic and Student Affairs.
According to a statement by University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Chancellor Leavitt, “Petra has been a long-standing senior leader and accomplished administrator at UW Oshkosh. She has been a part of an incredible era of transformation. During her tenure, Petra led two growth programs that resulted in significant growth in enrollment and in student success programs and services, and increased student diversity. Petra has a reputation as a student-centered leader and as an advocate for students. This includes her work with student and shared governance, as well as her commitment to diversity and inclusion—accomplishments recognized nationally.”
Roter served as interim chancellor upon retirement by Chancellor Emeritus Richard Wells through the hiring of Leavitt.
Associate vice chancellor Brandon Miller will serve as interim vice chancellor, effective July 1, 2016. A timeline for a search has not yet been defined.
