Traveling Suitcase headlines second night of Racket Fest 2018

The Traveling Suitcase are poised to rock the city of Oshkosh at the Algoma Club on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, closing out the first year of Water City Racket Fest.    The Suitcase headlines a solid night of original music that includes Auralai, ASUMAYA, RedHawks, and Redshift Headlights.

The Suitcase brings an in-your-face authentic rock n roll that is raw and alive with flares of early ’70s psychedelic rock and a funk-inspired punk rock.  The 3-piece is a consists of Bill Grasley on guitar, Brandon Domer on bass and keys, and Nicholas Botterman on vocals and drums.

Music for the evening begins with Auralai playing in Manila Resto at 6pm, with the rock n roll staring upstairs in the Algoma Club at 7:30pm. Guests do not need a ticket to enter Manila Resto for Auralai. Tickets are required for entry to the Algoma Club, with the $6.00 ticket cost granting you access to music on both Friday and Saturday evening. Racket Fest ticket holders will also receive $1 off food purchases at Manila Resto for the weekend.

Water City Racket Fest will take place in downtown Oshkosh at 103 Algoma Blvd. on Friday and Saturday, February 23 and 24, 2018. The event will feature all original music from Wisconsin bands. Tickets for the full event are just $6.00. More information is available at

Water City Racket Fest is being promoted by The Oshkosh Independent. The Fifth Ward Brewing Company is the Festival Sponsor, and will have their craft beers available throughout the event.

The Traveling Suitcase are sponsored by the Oshkosh Convention & Visitor’s BureauThe Oshkosh Convention & Visitors Bureau (OCVB) is a private, not-for-profit organization, funded solely through room tax dollars from Oshkosh hotels. Its mission is to promote Oshkosh, Wisconsin’s Event City and Winnebago County as a premier destination for corporate, sports and leisure groups and individual visitors.

Two great ways to get a listen to the Traveling Suitcase:

First, tune into Oshkosh’s fabulous 101.9fm radio — local community-based radio covering important local stuff, from council meetings to local rock n roll. Racket Fest radio will be airing Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:00 p.m. The show is hosted by Oshkosh radio legend Anthony Montalvo (another UW grad), and features nearly 25 minutes of straight music paired with a small dose of band info. The Suitcase’s show will begin airing late December, 2017.

Second, take a look at the Suitcase’s “Promises” music video:

Oshkosh’s Fifth Ward Brewing Co: Oshkosh’s newest craft brewery, located at 1009 South Main Street in Oshkosh’s south side, the Fifth Ward Brewing’s goal is to explore the boundaries of style and tradition, as an expression of they we are, where they’re from, their past experience, and their vision for the future. But mostly, they want to bring you the best possible beer.
