A public informational meeting has been set to help educate Oshkosh property owners about the proposed transportation fee. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 25 at 5 p.m. at City Hall, Room 404.
The proposed transportation fee would replace pavement-related special assessments with a monthly $4.50 fee. More details on how the plan was drafted and what the impact is on special assessments will be discussed at the informational meeting on June 25 during a presentation by Department of Public Works Director James Rabe and Finance Director Trena Larson. In addition to the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.
“This Transportation Fee is very much like having insurance,” said Public Works Director Rabe. “This $4.50 per month fee acts as your payment, and when the time comes for your property’s adjacent street(s) to be reconstructed, your special assessments will go down considerably compared to what it would be prior to this fee.”
The June 25 informational meeting will be broadcast live on Oshkosh Media’s Gov TV (Spectrum Cable Channel 10 or AT&T U-Verse 99), www.OshkoshMedia.org, and Oshkosh FM 101.9. Replays will also be available On Demand via the website and YouTube channel.
