On Monday, November 12, and Monday, November 19, Habitat for Humanity, the City of Oshkosh, and Greater Oshkosh Healthy Neighborhoods (GO-HNI) will host informational meetings on the Rock the Block initiative in Oshkosh.
Rock the Block is an event held in a targeted neighborhood for a concentrated period of time, focusing on small-scale home repair and preservation projects for low income homeowners, and community projects to improve and beautify the neighborhood surrounding the homes.
The Sacred Heart neighborhood was chosen as the first area for Rock the Block efforts in Oshkosh. The meetings will take place at the St Jude the Apostle Parish Hall (1025 W 5th Avenue) and will start at 6 pm. Presentations will include information on the Rock the Block initiative, the sponsoring partners and information on the City’s housing rehab programs.
After the presentations conclude interested residents will be able to ask questions and have the option to sign up to participate.
