Racket Fest unveils 2019 compilation album

Limited edition album to be available at Racket Fest beginning opening night on February 14

Water City Racket Fest has announced that for the first time they will be releasing a compilation disk featuring the music of bands from the annual festival.

The album is a must have for the fan of original music in the region. Fourteen bands contributed to the album, which will be available beginning February 14 at Fletch’s Tap House as part of the Water City Racket Fest kick-off celebration. The CDs will also be available Friday and Saturday at the Algoma Club until sold out.

Only 75 copies are being printed, which include full color disk printing and a full color cardboard insert.

The Racket Fest 2019 Compilation Album will be sold for just $7. For folks who purchase a weekend Racket Fest pass ($10), the compilation album will be only $3.

Here are some of the highlights of the album:

  • Tracks from bands outside of the Fox Valley, including: Nickel&Rose (MKE); Faux Fawn (Madison); Gauss (MKE); Good Night Gold Dust (Mankato, MN); Steev Baker (Madison); and ASUMAYA (Madison)
  • Previously unreleased tracks from the Redhawks and Sighs (formerly known as Heller Mason)
  • A previously unreleased remix of First Apartment by Redshift Headlights
  • Six tracks released in 2018 from local bands including Horace Greene, Spy vs Spy, Pudge, Solar Max, and the Present Age.

The original CD and cover design was created by team at Offbeat Press, who continue to be leading supporters of the local creative community in Oshkosh and throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

The Oshkosh Independent, which produces Water City Racket Fest, will be donating 25% of all proceeds from the album to the Day by Day Warming Shelter in downtown Oshkosh.
