Oshkosh’s KWT with Tom Washatka to perform at Governor’s Inaugural Ball


Oshkosh Jazz group KWT with Tom Washatka will perform on January 7, 2019 at the Wisconsin Governor’s Inaugural Ball.  The event is the official celebration of the election of new Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and his wife Kathy Evers.

KWT (short for Kevin Wells Trio) joins a strong list of Wisconsin musicians including  New Age Narcissism – NANAbby JeanneDJ Boyfrrriend, and 10+-piece dance orchestra Platinum.

Tickets for the event, which is being held at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, 1 John Nolen Drive in Madison, WI 53703 are $35 and will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee.

KWT is an award-winning jazz group based in Oshkosh and is one of just a small collection of Wisconsin-based jazz groups creating and recording new, original jazz music. The band is comprised of saxophonist Tom Washatka, bassist Kevin Wells, drummer Tony Taylor and guitarist Scott Derck. KWT has previously joined with the Oshkosh Independent to help raise funds for Oshkosh Area School District jazz band programming as part of the now-concluded Oshkosh Music Artist Series.
