Oshkosh Independent Magazine unveils logo

We are excited to release the logo for the new Oshkosh Independent Magazine.  The first issue will be published in November 2017.

The logo reflects our vision for what makes this community a distinctive and exciting place to live. It uses a typeface that is both contemporary and classic, incorporating an industrial aesthetic that is lightened by a sense of promise and possibility.

The graphic elements in the logo highlight the city’s relationship to Lake Winnebago and the Fox River while foregrounding the role that will be played by the Oshkosh Independent Magazine, also known as Oshkosh IM.

The second “o” in Oshkosh includes a rising sun and a wavelike symbol in the form of the letter’s “i” and “m.” We expect to be an independent voice for the community, acknowledging our challenges while highlighting our potential. When readers speak our name, they will be joining us in saying, “Oshkosh, I Am.”

The Oshkosh Independent Magazine is based on the idea that Oshkosh is a city on the rise and that local residents and businesses deserve to have a locally owned and operated media company bringing them news and information. It will initially appear five times a year and will be available through free distribution at local drop-off points and through targeted mailing.

Readers will also be able to purchase an annual subscription for just $22.  Through November 15, 2017, the Oshkosh Independent will be donating 11% of all subscription sales to the Day by Day Warming Shelter.  Local Realtor Kyle Kehoe is matching the donation, raising the donation amount to 22% of all subscription sales.
