Oshkosh author explores the history of local brewing in new book Winnebago County Beer: A Heady History


Release event scheduled for April 6, 2019 at Fox River Brewing

Oshkosh author and beer expert Lee Reiherzer has announced the release of his newest beer book “Winnebago County Beer: A Heady History,” published as part of The American Palate series from History Press.

The book looks at the stories behind the region’s rich brewing history, including iconic names such as Peoples Brewery, the Oshkosh Brewing Company, Chief Oshkosh, and more. Beyond Oshkosh, the book explores the brewing history throughout the county, including a look at the rich tradition that continues today with in Omro and Neenah.

Reiherzer is well-known in the region as publisher of the popular Oshkosh Beer Blog. He also writes a monthly column with the Oshkosh Independent, and is the co-author of “The Breweries of Oshkosh: Their Rise and Fall” (2012).

Fox River Brewing Co will be hosting the book’s release on April 6, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. through 3:00 P.M. The book will be available for purchase, and Reiherzer will be in house to talk about the book.
