Nordlund to play final Oshkosh show, launch new brewery

Oshkosh musician and respected local brewmaster RJ Nordlund will be joined by his band for a final Oshkosh performance on Thursday, June 7 at Fletch’s as part of the 2018 Independent Racket Nights series.  RJ will be departing from the Oshkosh area by the end of June to launch his own brewery in neighboring Michigan.

Nordlund (the band) will take the stage around 10:15pm for the only 4-band line up at the Independent Racket Nights 2018 series.  The 3-piece band features a raw, country rock feel centered around RJ’s vocals. They are joined by local singer-songwriter Noell Kaylene (7:30pm), jazz fusion group Nathaniel Frank & the Wisconsin Magic (8pm), and 5-piece doo-wap ska-ish Appleton rock outfit Tyler & the Streeters (9pm).

RJ has worked as the head brewmaster for Bare Bones Brewery over the past two years, and is returning to his home state of Michigan to open his own new brewery.  In addition to their Fletch’s show, Nordlund will be playing in Menasha on May 5 at The Source.

Bare Bones has announced Jody Cleveland as the new head brewer. Jody has been a home brewer for the past 7 years, and has recently worked with both Bare Bones and Fox River Brewing.

Independent Racket Nights is sponsored by Bare Bones Brewery, with each show featuring two beers from Bare Bones.  Additional sponsors include The Exclusive Company, Offbeat Press, Visit Oshkosh, and the Oshkosh Independent.

Fletch’s is located at 566 North Main in downtown Oshkosh.
