Lourdes boy’s basketball advances to WIAA state finals


Team defeated Osseo-Fairchild in the semifinals on a winning shot with two seconds remaining.

The Oshkosh Lourdes boy’s basketball team will play for the WIAA D4 State Championship on Saturday against New Glarus.

The team defeated Osseo-Fairchild in a close semifinal matchup Thursday in the Kohl Center in downtown Madison. The win moved the team to 26-1 on the season, which included an undefeated run through their conference.

New Glarus (25-2) knocked off #1 ranked and previously unbeaten Roncolli, who held the state’s longest active win streak at 34 games.

The finals matchup is scheduled for 12:45pm tipoff time on Saturday.
