With two seats up for election, incumbent Barb Herzog and newcomer Bob Poeschl are the only two to file papers. Board member John Lemberger is not seeking re-election.
Herzog has served as board vice president this past year. She has been on the board since 2013. Herzog worked for the Oshkosh Area School District from 1987 to 2010 as a principal and administrator, and has been president of SOAR (Special Opportunities for Artist Residencies) since 2008. She holds B.S. and M.S. in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
This is Poeschl’s first bid to the school board. He previously served multiple terms as an Oshkosh Common Councilor. In 2009, Poeschl defeated now-mayor Steve Cummings for the final spot on the council. Poeschl is the former director of ARC Winnebago, and current works for the Oshkosh Housing Authority. He holds a B.S. in Religious Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
