Herd wins first of two-game home stretch

The Westchester Knicks come to the Menominee Nation Arena for a 7:00 P.M. Saturday matchup.

The Wisconsin Herd battled back from a double-digit deficit at half to claim the 101-99 win in a down-to-the-wire battle against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in front of a sellout crowd at Menominee Nation Arena on Friday night.

The Herd’s narrow win came on the back of Shevon Thompson’s historic performance. He finished with a career-high 32 points and was just one rebound shy from a career milestone with 18, both highs for the game.

Wisconsin plays again tomorrow in a back-to-back homestand against the Westchester Knicks. Fort Wayne will have to wait until Monday to take the court, as they head to Delaware to face the Blue Coats.

The Herd currently sit in last place in the G League’s Eastern Conference with a 10-30 record and ten remaining games.

One of the season’s highlights has been the play of Christian Wood, who in 23 games has averaged 28.7 points on 55% shooting. Wood was named a All-NBA Midseason G League Team, and has earned minutes in 12 NBA games with the Bucks.
