Haunted Heads to rock at Racket Fest 2018

When you assemble a local Oshkosh rock n roll festival, it is pretty essential to incorporate legendary Oshkosh rock n roll band the Haunted Heads.  And that is what Water City Racket Fest did.  The Heads will play on Friday, February 23 (2018) as the third band on the lineup for the evening.

Haunted Heads play a super energetic, loud rock n roll built upon solid harmonies, intriguing rhythmic phrases, and melodies sung by a duo of guitars. The band includes Andrew Johnson (Happy, H. Chinaski) and Eric Van Thiel (The Willis, Drop Dead Giants) on guitars and vocals, Kyle Straveler (Happy) on bass and Chad Lorge on drums.

Water City Racket Fest will take place in downtown Oshkosh at 103 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh on Friday and Saturday, February 23 and 24, 2018.  The event will feature all original music from Wisconsin bands.  Tickets for the full event are just $6.00.  More information is available at www.oshkoshindependent.com/racket.

Water City Racket Fest is being promoted by The Oshkosh Independent.  The Fifth Ward Brewing Company is the Festival Sponsor, and will have their craft beers available throughout the event.

The Haunted Heads are sponsored by The Exclusive Company, the valley’s largest seller of vinyl, CD, DVD & Bluray new and used.  The Exclusive Company is celebrating 60 years in downtown Oshkosh!!

Two great ways to get a listen to the Haunted Heads:

First, tune into Oshkosh’s fabulous 101.9fm radio — local community-based radio covering important local stuff, from council meetings to local rock n roll.  Racket Fest radio will be airing Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:00 p.m. The show is hosted by Oshkosh radio legend Anthony Montalvo (another UW grad), and features nearly 25 minutes of straight music paired with a small dose of band info.  The Haunted Heads show will begin airing the week of October 16.

Second, take a look at this super awesome music video produced by Northern Outpost (and watch Straveler fall into the drums without missing a beat) :

Oshkosh’s Fifth Ward Brewing Co:  Oshkosh’s newest craft brewery, located at 1009 South Main Street in Oshkosh’s south side, the Fifth Ward Brewing’s goal is to explore the boundaries of style and tradition, as an expression of they we are, where they’re from, their past experience, and their vision for the future. But mostly, they want to bring you the best possible beer.

The Exclusive Company: The Exclusive Company is America’s Oldest Full-line Independent Record Store, and has been a staple in the Oshkosh downtown since 1957.  Now located at 318 N Main, the store carries new and pre-owned music and movies along with pop-culture accessories, books, gifts and novelty items.  In addition, the Oshkosh store (Exclusive has 7 Wisco shops) carries DJ equipment, car and home audio, and all the newest high definition televisions.

The Haunted Heads join ASUMAYA as the announced bands for Racket Fest 2018.
