In their own words – from Stephanie: “It’s difficult for me to visualize where I want my music’s final destintion to be, what rung of the music industry ladder I want to climb to. Songwriting has always been a place for me to hang up the thoughts and emotions that I struggle to process, especially death. (I’m sure that sounds really morbid, but don’t worry, I sing about happy things sometimes, too.). I have been putting a lot of thought into what I want to do with music in the next few years, to the point where I have nearly grown frustrated with it.
So, I have decided to just sit back and enjoy the ride, with no serious end goal in mind for now. I do not want the music I am creating to be subjected to the pressure of trying to be successful. I have no intentions of being famous on a large scale, but would be ecstatic to gain recognition by way of touring and singing in front of small but attentive crowds across the United States. Right now I am focused on writing new songs, ENJOYING the music I am making, and getting Aurala’s first album out into people’s ears. I have been fortunate to be able to collaborate with Nate Lehner and bring a lot of old (and new) songs into new light with his stylings. Being able to create with another person can be electrifying if you let it consume you. If success of any magnitude should find Auralai, I will happy as a clam..”
On Auralai: “If you have been a fan of the Fox Valley music scene in the last few years then you surely know Stephanie Tschech. If don’t know who she is, then shame on you! She is Auralai, one of Oshkosh’s up and coming artists. ” ~ Anthony Montalvo, Oshkosh Independent
