Council creates Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee

Councilors voted with unanimous support for the advisory committee

The Oshkosh Common Council voted at Tuesday night’s meeting to establish a new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion citizen advisory committee.

The committee, expected to be formed this summer, will provide guidance to the council and city manager on appropriate strategies to develop activities, resources, and services that promote a positive community environment of equity and inclusion, and celebrate the diverse identities of the city.

The creation of this committee has been a key goal for Oshkosh Mayor Lori Palmeri, who presented the measure.
