The UW Oshkosh music department is thrilled to be hosting Clarice Cast, a celebrated international clinician on the pandiero, the national instrument of Brazil. Clarice recently received her masters degree in world percussion from the California Institute of the Arts. She is a frequent recording artist, and her credits include a Grammy-nominated album with the Lado B Brazilian Project. Clarice currently performs and freelances in the LA area, but also does clinics around the country.
The percussionists at UWO will be working with Clarice during her visit to campus. According to percussion professor Elizabeth DeLamater, Clarice inspires young people, loves music and percussion, and is passionate about sharing her love of Brazilian music and percussion.
