A special Saturday matinee performance of Mary Poppins at the Grand

The Saturday early show is a rescheduled performance of Thursday evening’s show.

Oshkosh North High School and the Grand Oshkosh are presenting a special 2:00pm performance of Mary Poppins this Saturday, February 9, 2019. The show is a rescheduled performance of Thursday’s planned opening night, which was rescheduled following the closing of schools for the day due to weather conditions.

All tickets that were purchased for Thursday’s performance will be accepted for the Saturday 2:00 show. Additional tickets are available at the box office and online.

“It’s been a memorable musical season, to say the least, with three snow days during tech week and now the rescheduling of opening night,” offered the Oshkosh North high School Musical team in a statement. “We are fortunate to be able to bring you this double-header on Saturday instead of dropping the Thursday performance altogether. Thank you for supporting Oshkosh North High School’s production of Mary Poppins! Our students are excited to share their hard work with each of you this weekend.”

One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect.
Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.”

Mary Poppins is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers and magical stagecraft.
